Glass Pendants
Fumed Sun
This style of pendant is called a "tube implosion". I take a small section of tubing, heat it up with my torch, and puff it into a bubble. I then melt color dots and lines to make my designs and patterns. Once I am finished putting what will be in the pendant, i melt the bubble down into a solid. The work i did on the bubble then "sinks" into the clear, giving the work depth, as well as some beautiful fading to the colors.
On this pendant, I fumed the bubble with gold and silver, then took a small (1mm) stringer of glass, and drew the sun by melting the stringer onto the bubble with my torch.
Surrounding this I put dots, to frame the center.
The background is a very blue blue, and the sun and dots have a green/gold/orange and sometimes metallic sheen to them, depending on light and viewing angle.
